Vitara Body Lift Questions

Post by tube suzi »

I have searched in the bible and can't find the info I need, hence my post here.

i need to know how many mounts there are in a SWB and LWB vitara, what size studs are in the floor, how many are captive, and how many are removable etc etc.

Are there any issues with earths, fuel fillers, gear sticks etc...

From what I read the majority of the studs are M10x1.25, save for the front 2 mounts under the headlights.

Any info is appreciated.

8 body mounts in a lwb.
6 are welded to the floorpan and 2 under the headlights are just long bolts.
also 4 spacers under the body.
depends on how high you are lifting it
2 inch and there are no real probs.
3 inch and you need to extend the gear levers, fuel filler, brake pipes.
lwb vitara

Correct, and same in SWB, except I didn't have to extend fuel filler and brake pipes. Depends on the vehicle mostly, and on the owner being comfy with things as they are or unknowingly........ ;) I'd say stretch and adjust everything you see that's too short.
Oh and dont forget your steering tube (see bible how Sikid did that, very neat).
