Interesting.

Perhaps if we put together a group buy we might be able to manage a discount.

Anyone else interested?

They must be made in China so why can't we get 'em direct from there?

This is what I want to know - how do you find the source of all these things in China? There's lots of things I'd be happy to buy a lot of direct then sell for cost or a bit more if I knew how to locate the suppliers.
This is not legal advice.

Time and effort.

A bloke I know needed ignition modules for a couple of chinese generators he had - local price $270 each.

Found some Chinese industry website which lists Chinese manufacturers and their products, for which he had to register. Originally came up with over 15 thousand manufacturers of generators, but narrowed it down with the name of the province (NFI how he knew the Province... :? )

That reduced the list to approx 2500, and he just worked his way through the list until he found them. Took 2 weeks, identified and contacted the company, the modules were approx. A$4 each.

Then began the bunfight of transferring money to China - trickier than I would have believed! But he got there, has his generators back up and running, has a few spare modules, plus some extras to throw on Ebay. :D

Good luck,

Scott

PS - I won't move this to Chit-chat, because it's not clear to me who's proposing what, and there's off-topic stuff here. If somebody is serious about a group buy I suggest creating a new thread here, and linking to it from Chit Chat.
