What turbo are you running on a 3B?

Post by tys BJ42 »

I'm after some turbos that people are running on their 3Bs. I'm looking to put something from another model onto mine by using the original manifold and flipping it upside down. Who's done it, what turbo did you put on and what were the results and difficulties encountered?

Cheers

BJ is running an AXT turbo kit, I used to run one also. BJ is pretty happy with his (from memory of a conversation long ago, best ask him) and mine was ok. Running a bout 9 psi it pushed 35's ok with standard ratios and did pretty well running 31's. Was dyno'd with approx 56kw at rear wheels running 35's 9psi boost, 3 inch exhaust.

Muss on here is running a Denco system, talk to him about it I think he's pretty wrapped. Denco also tuned my rig with AXT kit and got me an extra 20 kw!!

If I did it over I would talk to a turbo specialist like Denco or similar about what I wanted to do with the car and get a turbo to match or fork out the extra for a 13BT.

Just my experiences anyway. But no idea on the other models fitting the 3B or flipping manifold.
