Where does the pipe go after the end in that pic?? Or is that it?
It is taking in air from directly above your extractors... it will be so hot and *hotter air = less power*.
If you route a cold air intake it would be much better.. something to outside the engine bay.. did you think of using a snorkel straight out the drivers side... rather than coming over the top of the engine and exhaust?

I have just got a 3" flex pipe from purple pig to continue from that pipe that you see.
I did think about the drivers side but there was a lot of stuff over there.
The housing is a stock pot from Kmart, then cut up the lid to make the base plate and trimmed the pot down to make the top.
Bunnings plumming supply for the bend and Gal Pipe.
Cost me about $50 for what you see in the pic.
Now I will continue it to the guard and start work on a snorkel soon.

The pipe will still be heated.. and the air will get hotter than if it wasnt over the motor.. but at least if you take it from the guard it will be cooler to begin with

have you run a hose from the outlet on the back of your converter into your airbox? Not doing this can mess with the air sensor on your LPG setup reducing power. Another possibility.
Also think about getting the pipe running over the extractors HPC coated. This should significantly decrease intake temperatures.
It differs from model to model. There should be an outlet with a bit of gauze or similar covering it. Im no expert, I read about it in a search for snorkles with LPG. IIRC it has the sensor for air pressure in it which determines your air/gas mix. I think if you dont do it you can lean your engine out. Sorry I cant be of more help.

if you simply put a cover over it, then no, as long as you havn't restricted the up and down movement of that screw under there, it move a fair way up.

I just wanna say Thats is a brilliant idea how you used the crock top. Maybe those pics and a little write up could be put in the lpg bible to help us a little. I think screwy was looking for sumthing like this a while back.
I have a few photos of the proccess. Once i sort out these little problems and I know it is not too restrictive I can do a post if you like. Lets just hope I dont have to build a new one that breathes a little better.
This size Pot only clears the air filter by about 2cm around the outside. The 3" inlet means it will prob only take the air through one spot in the filter.
If I get it running as it was without the cover on it I will be happy
