Have been thinking about importing a complete TD4.2T engine with turbo from a jap Safari.
A couple of importers I've talked to seem to think they're fairly easy to come by in Japan, could land it here (probaly with a gearbox as well) for less than 2k. Thats cheaper than a turbo conversion only.
Any thoughts? I'm presuming it would be a bolt in to my GQ - I could probably sell my n/a TD42 for what the turbo import would cost. Sounds too good to be true?

I am not fully knowledgable on the GQ Safari range but did some come out over there with a hairdryer on the side ?? Or would this be from the GU variant of the Safari..
Otherwise good price......

You could also use the turbo and plumbing from the inport motor as parts to preform a turbo conversion on your motor, but I am currently turboing mine and have managed to sorce a turbo kit that would probobly end up costing not much more than buying the motor in. I am fitting it myself to keep the cost down.
