A mate is looking into buying a cruiser ute sometime next year and wants to turbocharge it.
He was thinking about getting a 2000 model or later with the 100 series gearbox. Is this box any stronger then the old 75 series box
Theres an old 89 2h in the trado at a good price which he might look into aswell.
Would a turbo off the 7.3 ford V8 diesel be to big and laggy for a 2h or 1hz
Also what about going twin turbos and run a smaller turbo infront of the big huffer Has anyone done this on these engines
Otherwise maybe the turbo off the current subaru GT liberty. 190kw standard and heaps of down low torque.

the 2h is not a good motor to turbo, it dos'nt handle any more than about 6 or 7psi or it can blow. the 1hz is a very good motor to turbo and is easy to liberate HP reliably, however watch the current model 79series as the front diffs are also 100 series and more prone to bust, the gearbox sumtimes spits the dummy with the extra power too.

There are plenty of 2H's reliably running up to and over 10PSI without blowing. The only problem faced is heat and over-fuelling issues which if tuned and monitored correctly are not an issue at all.
