GQ Front panard chassis bolt

Post by JeSTeROCK »

Just changing my front adjustable panhard rod and can't get the bolt out of the chassis mount. The nut is off

It turns but doesn't thread out.

Have tried hammering and using a clamp but no luck

Any idea's ?

I think the bolt may have rusted to the metal part inside the bush

i actually had this problem not so long ago, we tried evrything, including alot of WD40, i also used a bottle jack between the bolt and the tir down point and i ended up shattering the top of the bottle jack,

in the end, we used an ol axle, and a BFH and pounded that mother out

the axle was long enough, that you could stand up and swing frokm infront of the car, it was a 2 person job, one swinging, and one holding axle on the spot,

carefull not to round over the end of the bolt,

don't mess around, just cut the head and bottom off and wiggle it front to back so the mount seperates slightly and the panhard will drop out. buy a new bolt. I did this about a month or 2 back on binghams truck

cheers bru
