does $3850 sound cheep ??
I rang a guy out of the new 4x4 monthly mag about lp gas set up for my GQ diesel i nearly shit my self when he gave me this price considering a turbo set up can be achieved cheeper does this sound right ? cheers Adam..

a guy in our club had this conversion done the price seems to be about right, but its only been out for a couple of years i think, was like driving a turbo diesel but way better, especially on fuel economy.plus alot of the east west trucks are running this set up and saving huge amounts on diesel.
buggy time............
Had to have my tank re-tested because I there were no secondhand ones to speak of - and the price of that has gone up badly over $150 now for a re-test here in Bnebogged wrote:that is about right, I have heard of lots more recently with everyone trying to get LPG fitted.
They cant supply enough tanks to the fitters at the moment apparently.

Mate, I'm not sure. They guy lives not far from me and just took my car to work for the day. They're a Landy specialist that has diversified into LPG/Diesel as far as I know. They're at 5/83 Cox Av in Kingswood.ZOOK60 wrote:if this is the servo on the great western highway that your talking about at kingswood never go there you will regret it trust meSlunnie wrote:KLR at Kingswood/Penrith do the Diesel/LPG conversion, though I cant find what that part of their company trade as or their website.

The system that I know of, and know very little about, runs the diesel system as normal, and then fogs the lpg in addition to this. Thats apparently why you if you run out of LPG there is no problem. The power gains and range are meant to be really good, but then again you are carrying more fuel at the end of the day. The LPG is supposed to somehow produce a more complete combustion of the diesel.

From what my understanding is, the LPG run additional to the diesel, and acts as a catylst to the burn. Some older deisels burn at about 70% effiecency, and some of the very late europeans run at about 85-90%.
If you bleed in a small amount of LPG, 100% burn is easily acheivable.
I cannot remember the links, but if you are serious about this, search on google, lots of great DIY sites, that have great detail on what to-do and not to-do.

What about an already turbo charged engine running relatively low boost 8psi.
Would you still be able to do this ? Would that combined with the LPG be to stressfull for the lil td42 ?

a bloke down at capalaba does this and taps the LPG in before the turbo,JemmyBubbles wrote:What about an already turbo charged engine running relatively low boost 8psi.

better burn rate and cause LPG is cold it helps keep the turbo cooler , or some thing like that
just a little left of insanity :)

I started reading and answered my own questions. But simply why doesn't this get don't more often ? Reduces harmfull emissions, tones down the diesel fume smell and increases burn efficiency...
Supposedly lowers EGT's as well so that can only be a good thing.
I did a bit of a search and found a few DIY sites, after reading I would definately pay someone. And also it is gas so...
