Need Help to get keys out of a 100 Series

Post by Kramer »

I just locked my keys in the 100 series! Is there an easy way to get them out at all?

Stupid seals are real good so hard to get past those! The quote from the locksmith was astronomical! :bad-words: .

Anyway any help appreciated, it has barn doors at the rear and vinyl flooring if that info helps?

What does a piece of glass cost eg- Drivers window?

Nah didn't even think of pics! SWMBO was too sh!tty about it!

This is how it goes, I went to take the cruiser this morning to work so I could wash it, found out the keys were locked in, called some locksmiths from work found out it was really expensive (only one locksmith here), SWMBO gets out of bed and gets ready to go into town she can't find the keys for either car, looks in the cruiser keys in it! Rings me at work Quote- "What the F**K are the keys doing in the cruiser" I tell her I did it before and then the approx quote I got from the locksmith $80-$300, she swears some more about its too close to christmas etc, So I shut my shop drive home grab a rock and put it through the window! Grab the keys out and tell her heres your f**king keys for your heap of s**t!

She is currently on the way to winscreens O'brien!

I am currently looking for another place to stay for a few days!

RACQ don't even start me on them! They keep on stuffing up my membership, I refuse to be with them but there is no-one else!

Yeah the 100 series is hard to get into! SWMBO still hasn't come back with a price of glass yet

`NRMA has glass insurance for $50 a year. If a side window gets "vandalised" its still covered. I got it for windscreens. I bought my swb and the screen was farked. Insured it and then 3 months later rego came up. Cheapest windscreen i eva bought .

SSHHHHH. Dont tel em i said that :D

Yeah I have insurance for a piece of glass each year but already used that by putting my head against it when I fell into a big rut without a seatbelt on!

And that was only 1 week after I got the car!

Oopsy Daisy. . The local natives in Narranderra apparently twist a screwdriver between the glass and the frame and it just shatters the glass with out making heaps of noise. not as fun as a brick though

The missus didn't get a piece of glass for it, and won't tell me how much it will cost! (She isn't talking to me for some reason!) So I will try the wreckers next week if they r open!

i bet 80-300 bucks is probably cheaper than the price of a new window and having it installed

I have done this once in my 100 series, called RACQ and they came out with a nice tool kit to slip beside the window. I think they got in the rear passenger door but it took about half an hour and we almost gave up.

also had this happen before. keys in ignition. tools used large flat screwdriver, coathanger. method straighten coathanger and then rebend into smaller almost closed hook, put masking tape around screwdriver shaft, insert screwdriver between door and A-pillar at corner of roof and windscreen, lever door outwards, insert coathanger hook first and grab keyring, (pull out of ignition in my case), bring keys up and out next to screwdriver

yer i locked the old mans keys in the 80 series

i tried for awile to use a piece of alloy tig wire i got the lock half open but just wasnt enough

we rang the lock smith he came out all he did was use a cable from a choke of some thing basically wrapped the other part in tape to protect the paint

then bend the end of the inner wire and slide it in moved it around and pulled it back

ill have to remember that a cable like a choke or throttle cable might be cheaper than a new window or a lock smith

but the lock smith only charged $50 so that was good
