Stealth Mods

Post by just cruizin' »

Hi Guys,

Put a deposit down on a Zook today and she who must be obeyed has told me I'm not allow too spend any readies (which aren't really that ready) on it. SO what I'm asking is what are the best CHEAP mods I can do without the handbrake being any the wiser. The things bog stock at the moment so yes she will notice Hilux diffs spring over with 37"s. I could probably get away with a 2" lift if I do it quick.

Leaf or coil?

do a simple 2"BL or 2" spring lift and go for some 235 or 30' tyres.

Depends on how crap the tyres are now and where u want to wheel.

If u are only planning minor mods only then u can prob fit 235's on without lift and then lift later. At least u will have traction.

As most i have seen have come with the 205's in either slick or barely highway terrain.

cheers

check the following link for some basic mods.. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... hp?t=62283

your question seems to be asked all the time so do some searches on mods.. or performance and you should find a bit.

cheers.

Don't lie to your wife. Family comes first, 4wd fun second. I'm sure if you were upfront with her she'd come around and give the thumbs-up for a few mods. Plus you'll breed trust in your relationship.
All the best mate.

There is NO way the boss will let me spend anything on it, with a locked and lift 100 series in the garage she thinks that should be enough. I've done pretty good just getting the zook in the first place. I needed a cheap economical vehicle to get to work in and she said an old laser was the go, I pushed for the zook and got it to her disapproval, one $WD is not enough is it.

Shackles I can make myself so they'll be on the list, anything under fifty dollars that's not in your face obvious will be done.

It's not a matter of keeping things from her entirely, I just can't leave anything standard.

Do the foam air filters make much difference?

Locker will have to be a penny saving exercise I think.

This could work.

Modify it as it is her car and assure her it has to be done so she can wheel it harder ;) :D

1st mod will be : hilux diffs (purely because you want her to have more stability while driving it) :P ;)
