Radiator Replacement

It seems as though the radiator in the old girl is past it's prime! Temps were getting up there even though full of coolant. Had a closer look on the weekend and it seems as though the filaments (or whatever they're called!) are starting to rot.

Any suggestions for a replacement? Will be using the vehicle for offroad racing at some point in the future so if I'm going to replace things, I'll be upgrading things with that in mind.

The most efficient radiator is an aluminium one. As with all things good they cost $$$. Not sure of any dealers in QLD but andrew richmond has them http://www.lrautomotive.com.au/home.html
There is also a larger core option if going for a recore of your existing radiator.

I've just fitted a EF falcon radiator in my rangie, still sorting some "permanent" tmounting issues, and the extra outlet But runs cool. Picked mine up for $120 from a wreckers, with the bonus of easily mounting EF/EL thermo's in the near future. Once I've sorted it all I'll get some pics up.

does anyone know if aussie desert coolers make an oversized radiator to suit a rangie?i have recently put a bigger ford engine into my car and am worried about cooling it.

I have a 3 core Natrad 940 ? in my 92 3.9.
This was a warranty replacement when I bought the car second hand.
I hit the roof when I saw it, as I assumed that it was inferior to my standard 4 core. I called Natrad and an engineer explained that it was superior in every way .
I was driving up Browns? Mountain about 2000 Meters in 10 Kilometers from Bega to the Monaro yesterday in an outside temp of 46C, and the gauge did not move. I have low ranged in 49c without the gauge moving.
I am prettyy sure that the Natrad core will fit your small end tanks. I reckon this is the cheapest and best solution as it is about 15% better than a 3.9 four core and should cost less than $400.

less than $400 for a new unit that fits is a bargain - extremely hard to get 3.9 radiators for a resonable price have heard of people importing them for less than you buy them here genuine
