Bar work pics and prices

Post by Nev »

hey guys, am looking for pics and prices of tube front and rear bars, sliders and an internal cage for my LWB sierra. Have done a search and found numerous pics but want an estimate on prices for this sort of barwork. If anyone has some pics and prices or recommendations on where to go in Brisbane it would be much appreciated. I know a few people on this forum have got work done at custom offroad at stafford...wat are their prices like? Any info much appreciated.

Yeh i saw some of the brewskibilt stuff on the zukes of hazard on the weekend and agree it looks really awesome!! Was talkin to one of them who said he works at woodford or morayfield...is that right? Have you got a quote off him yet? If you do get a cage built could you give an indication of wat he charges you? Also who built your front tube bar cutzook and how much did it cost coz it looks great! cheers

He quoted me a rough 1500 for a six point CAM compliant w'out blue plate just b4 christmas. He'll mod them to suit with reinforcing and removable sections to help with DoT... just costs more.

Got some close up pics of one of his on a nt that rolled during test and trials at willowbank november last year, held up nicely and the guy was able to run sunday also.

What type off roll bars are legal in Oz wide

Post by V25C »

I'm currently thinking of buying a Drover at the moment for $1000 rust free with 300k. However if I buy it I want to put a full internal cage in it as I have mates who we badly hurt in a Sierra in the early 90’s (they feel a bit small after ownership of Cruisers, Rovers and Paj’s). However I move around Oz about every two years for work and it pisses me off that as soon as I get to a new state I have to get the vehicle reengineered. I have been there before with a highly modified FJ40 and don’t want to do it again.

Are 6 point cages legal in all states as shown by Pinball in his Willowbank photos?

The ones from willowbank are CAM spec units, this helps with engineering in state rego, but generally they still need some sort of mod plate.

Not sure what the interstate recognition of plates is, but i do recall a fella had a nice FJ flatback hotrod in NSW, moved to QLD and could only get a rod registration for it. Limited use on registered rod runs and maximum 15 km (?) from home, not far enuff for him to run from bellbowrie to kenmore for petrol.
