Disc brake rear end for MQ?
Disc brake rear end for MQ?
Is it possible to convert rear diff to discs on back and maybe better ones onto from front. Arre GQ ones better and do they fit? I want to run keep running 15" wheels though.
mate GQ disks on the front are the same as MQ disks on the front, even the pads are the same....
the rear however.... you can fit GQ rear rotors on the back of MQ... but i wouldnt recomend it.
The idea behind putting disks on the rear is simple enough but you have to use smaller disks and calipers as the factory rear drums have far less capasity than new calipers... so if you put large calipers and disks on you will have to upgrade your master cylender as well....
Ideally you would like to put Prado, or Hilux or something similar to that on the back..... they are smaller and no master cylender upgrades need to be made.
screwy

If i was to put GQ rotors and calipers on the back could i also just put a GQ master cylinder on as well and maybe bias valve thingy? I don't want to go to all the effort of changing to disc rear if there is no performance gain (ie hilux rear discs may only give the same performance as mq drums). Also did i see 4 piston front calipers on MILO in jan issue? if so rather than chucking bigger rotors on front is there a better caliper available?
there will always be a large performance gain from any disks over drum brakes... you only use smaller calipers for the capasity, and dont forget you wont ever have to wash the pricks out when they get mud in them either.....Brett S wrote:If i was to put GQ rotors and calipers on the back could i also just put a GQ master cylinder on as well and maybe bias valve thingy? but yeh if u upgrade the master cylender to GQ and the brake booster and put a bias valve in it will all work, just makes it that much more expensive
