Experiences of Maxxis Buckshot Mudders please

So are these good value for money in terms of their performance and life?

Got quoted $190 each for 235/85/16.
Discounted on a sliding scale if I buy 5 or 6.

bloody brilliant for the dollar.soft sorta compound.the GQ with only 2"susp/2"body can go around corners in the wet a fair bit quiker than the highest aus speed limit full laden.can handle mud very well eats rocks and gravel roads at high speed.all this at normal 35psi road pressures.to lazy to deflate but i should give it a go i have nicked and scalloped the tread blocks a bit from rocky surfaces because of these pressures.dont expect to much more than 40000 klm,thats what i reakon my usable range will be.

I have post afew excellent comment about the traction of these tyres BUT the sidewall strength is a bit pathetic, i found my self having a bal on big smooth rock, but in creeks with sharp rocks and branches/roots on the ground i was manouvering around it all to avoid damage.

i would prefer radial claws... BUT the radial claws arnt so strong either.
Seems the 35" variants are abit stronger then the smaller 33s thou.

i have them and i like them for the price i think thats what i'll be replacing with 40k looks about what ill get aswell, the first 5k i thought they where going to rip to shreds but after 15k they've only lost 20% if that

Great tyres,
Just done a trip after all the brissy rain, and compared to cooper stt and goodyear Wranglers their are heeps better, got heeps further with maxxis and open diffs than double lockerd with coopers same size.

get them you wont be dissapointed i run them and a mate runs them on his jackaroo both in 33s and we rate them highly 4x4 monthly also tested them awhile ago and rated them highly also

My brother had the same size 235/85/16 on his bravo and they were great for the money. I think he got about 35/40k out of them, but the ute was always loaded up with work gear.

Thanks heaps guys! They sound great! Good to see little comparisons to other tyres too as I am only interested in how these perform at the moment and hearing it from those who've had 1st hand experience.

I did do a search too and the only negative thing that kept coming up was the soft sidewalls.
I hope thats not a problem with the 235/85/16's as they are a 10ply LT where as most of the 15's are only 6ply LT.

As far as mileage goes I think I'll get more than 40K out of them because I'll only be using them on the odd weekend for wheelin fun.

I have the Maxxis 751 bravo radials (daily driver set) and they have been very honest on and off road, bar the mud.
