Extended flares for GQ with 35s

Post by coke »

I need to extend the width of my flares on my GQ. I am running 35s on a 10" rim and they stick out about 1 inch. I have been told that they need to be covered for RWC. I dont want to fit the Bunnings garden edge that some people do, I just want an extra inch of rubber so that it can get the RWC then I will probably rip it off again.

I amthinking something like clark rubber might have a solution, that I can just screw to the stock plastic flares with short stainless screws hidden on the inside, then whenever I need I can re-attach them!

Any other ideas that are simple would be appreciated...

I have just moved to QLD in late Nov. I am unsure as to the length of the stay, depending on if and when we sell out business here, so I am keeping my cars registered at my mother in laws address, where we visit regularly (for legal reasons!)

I have the car fully engineered in NSW for 37s and 15x10 rims, with the lift, body lift, turbo, etc. I really cant be bothered going to extremes of re-engineering it if I dont stay here for very long...

No need to worry about getting the extended flares, you wont get it road worthy anyway...so save your efforts unless you plan on lowering it back to 2", dropping back to 33's and making the body lift 2" if it isnt already. After all that, then maybe worry about the flares :D

Rollsalot,

Looks like you didn't understand my second post very well...

I have already been to see the guy about the Pink Slip (what a RWC is called in NSW) and I have a short list of things to attend to. My car is engineered to run 10 inch rims, 37 inch tyres and the exact suspension that is in it now. Including the BL. I got it engineered last May in NSW.

What I need to do to satisfy the mechanic is to get some cover over the rubber, that sits outside my flares by about 1.5" or 2".

thanks for the other replies too guys. Investigating today.

You did pretty well to get 37's and 7" springs engineered. Queensland Rego Sucks!!!
