on ,Roadless gears site. they mention most models so probly have one .
These are probly only for the rear ,the splines on the front are different ,
I think maybe trial tuff are the marketers have a look at there site. :roll:

why is a spool better than welding the diff? I am not being rhetorical, I really need peoples input. christover

i'm assuming because it is reversable. ie take it out when you sick of it.

The spools are better than welding as they wind up instead of the axles which inturn reduces the skipping on turns and less stress ion the axles in theory anyway.
Trailtough do them for $295 aus

I like the theory, makes sense, tho the bush can alter theories :lol:

but fer that money, I could add a bit more and get a lokka, or lock rite. I have one litre diffs, so probly no spools fer those, anyway? rear is welded, still thinking what to do with the front, as not many choices. christover

I'm looking for a "minilocker" for the front of my Vitara that wont kill my alloy diff housing.

As no-one has experience in these in Vitara fronts I'm guessing I might have to be the first experiment/victim

is that try before you buy, or are you gonna take a gamble and hope it fits?

besides i'm sure someone out there will know what spline fits and what the front end of a vitara has, and a coiler zuk for that matter.

The spline on front axles on the vit are the same as sierra 1.3 wide track,
The hemisphere is of the two pin type on a vit front , To beef it up a little you would need to fit a four pin hemisphere from the front or rear of a 1.3 leafer, The hemisphere is the item the crown wheel bolts to.
If they sell the spools for the front of a sierra 1.3 leafer then you could slip one of these in the four pin hem and viola ,

Problems the vit does have relaibility problems with the ring pinion housing it is made of alloy and does disinagrate , Would be good to replace the thing with the cast iron housing from the seirra,
the problem with this thought is there is a bracket for some associated
control bar /what ever , So this would need attention as well.

Just a warning a spooled front is not fun .

I was running the front 5.12 ratio's in the alloy housing in the 1.3 wide track housings front and rear so i can't see why they fit the other way around.
Ask sam from overkill he should know.

Yeah the theory is sound - that front Vitara and Sierra stuff is interchangable, and I would probably look at replacing the diff housing when the time comes to look at the minispool/lockright, as it's recommended by just about everyone not to lock the front due to the "weakness" of the Vitara front diff centre.

A minispool at $99 US is a heap cheaper than a lockright, so i thought it might be worth a try.....

First thing I need to find how to put 32"s on my Vitara first I think. Ground clearance is still more of an issue than needing both front a rear lockers at this stage.
