thinking 10mm plate will suffice for the bottom. Is oil a problem then or do they still last.
also have a spare front gq 3rd member is it worth taking the rear c/w & p outta my rear and fitting it to the spare front housing with an arb rear locker. to give me a high pinion. does this weaken the diff due to the new pinion location, will the axles reach ok or are custom needed.
only have 3 days so have whats need first will help rather than figuring it out which is always a pain working blind with 3rds, hence having to measure everything.
are the carrier bearings the same before i order them (assuming rear bearings will be the go as they suit the locker - are the bearings larger than fronts as axles are different splines.)
will the studs hole spacing suit, or is it a weld up and drill and tap new ones affair?
heard it has been done by some melb boys
will help the shaft angles with the dual transfers!
detail would be good
cheers bru
