hey all,
i have a 1991 hilux (petrol) and my temp gauge in the dash shit itself costing me 2 grand to fix as my engine overheated.
i need to buy a new aftermarket temp gauge and was wondering if my model hilux has a mechanical one or electrical one????
how hard are they to fit???

Just a tip here... my Hilux lost the water (with the missus driving) and apparently when that happens it sticks at the last temperature so the sparkys tell me. (I had the sender and guage tested). She brought it home with a bit of a rattle. A $5000 dollar rattle. You can buy and install an alarm that tells you when your water drops instead. I'm trying to find one now.

genrally its at the fronyt near the thermostat housing or water neck . on mine i had to positions to chosse from . and the other guys are right get a low water allarm think it mite cost all of 100 dollars at a leccey shop but when ur talkn desiel rebuild its worth it .
