37's on Style Side Lux - Will they fit??

Post by benhl »

OK. Looking to get 37's under the pig and was wondering how much gaurd trimming you think i will have to do:
1 - in the front with front diff moved fwd 30mm, &
2 - in the rear, diff in normal position, SYLE SIDE wheel arch to trim up!!

Any other mods, bodywise or other to consider before buying 37 rubber?

I'm aware of extra strain on CV's etc, is this a lot more than 33's?? also i have std tnf case, 22R and 4.88's. Will this turn them OK? Mostly a toy, may do the occasional trip to the dump or shops but does drive to Ormeau, LCMP etc.

Opinions

i have some 35x14.5 Thornbirds on the way, and now you got me thinking about rubbing on the inside guard!!!

Another question if thats ok. how do ou go about trimming the rear of the front guards so no rubbing occurs?? how do you get away with the exposed edge???
Cheers Joe.

Got any body lift? Even with it i think youll need to move your front diff forward more than 30mm unless you want to butcher your guards a heap. Have you considered rears up front? this will move the front diff forward about 50mm, redrill your perch 30mm and you should have just enough room for the 37's. Not sure on the rear with the style side tub though.

Best bet would be to borrow some 37's and see what youll need to do, the main problem with the front is the tyre rubbing on the firewall, even with 33's!

OK trial fitted some 35 pedes today, different tyre and different size i know but, 37 aren't going to fit without some serious surgery. I think i'll stick to 35's. May even have to trim a little on rear for 35's. 37's need about 3" cut out of guard all way round it. Too much hassle combined with extra driveline strain of the bigger rubber etc.

I'll just have to be satisfied with 35.

Yeah - rears are going in up front, may redrill perch we'll see how they go for 35's.

Ben you are after boggers aren't you?? The 37 bogger only measers something like 35.5 I think. So might no need as much trimming as you think. I've got my tsl's at home now if ya want to swing round the corner and give them a quick fit, they are a similar size.

thanks basketcase, however i no longer live in East Brisbane moved to Rochedale South recently. I was chasing boggers and have since gone off them a little. Budget, size, legality and driveability to and from parks/ormeau are all consideration.

Weighing up my optioins atm. Think i'll go visit Ryano :D
