What's the longest rear lux spring anyone has used, and how did they work??? any photos????

I have Explorer rears on mine (56.5") same as all falcon/ fairlane except centre pin location. They are thick and hard steel so flex won't be brilliant until packs are customised and extended shackle used.
So if u r going to get new mains fabbed up and move ur mounts might as well get them custom made to 63" ( or any other length to suit- but the engineers prefer springs substituted from another vehicle- on paper).

My rear packs are custom made, they have
7 leaves all 7mm think
main leaf is 1500mm or 59inch long
They flex very well (about 24 inches with shocks that are to short n one set of clamps still on them) and ride very well just don`t try to carry any wieght on them as it becomes like a boat on the ocean

Guts how far forward did you move the hanger and how long are your shackles. I know this will differ depending on what spring I use just after a rough idea, any pic's ????
Might do a hunt around the wrecking yards and see whats about.

so that would be about 10" more than using IFS rears, well worth the effort and a little extra expense.about 24 inches with shocks that are to short n one set of clamps still on them

Go to http://www.snakeracing.com.au/media/articles/guts.html then read the rear suspension section, all your questions should be answered including the shackels which are still hung from the standard hanger on the rails. Just to add to how it still drives with these rear springs in. With the normal wieght I carry on the back (tool box full and spare wheel) it drives great and handles well for a 4x4.
