302 clevo into mk Patrol
Ok guys, the saga's continue:I had my 302 running fine in a car i bought, took the engine out and it sat in my shed for 4 months. I've now put it in my Patrol and first trip out it ran real hot, get it back in the garage and there is water bubbling from the headgasket area at the front of the block. I've had head gaskets go b4 but never seen it bubble from between the head and block b4, it was also slightly bubbling from where the heater pipe goes in2 the water pump but i think that is just the hose needs cutting back and re-clamping again. Any1 else ever had a head gasket bubble b4? Seems odd it was fine b4 transplanting it in2 another car.
Well i'm finaly up and running, did the head gasket, took off both heads and did all the valves etc and no more running hot
It's got a 500 holley on it and it needs a rebuild and jetting to suit as it runs like shit on petrol, connected up the gas 2day and it runs a treat . Will be using it every day now so will let u know what kays i get on gas, hoping for 5 kays per ltr. After 5 weeks of problems i'm finally on the road, just gotta get around to getting an egineers report now

Sorry not been on guys, pc shat itself. Well i've done 7000 kays since september wiv the 302 now and all is well. Temp runs about 1/2 way up gauge in summer so could do with a better rad really. I get between 4 and 4.5 k/ltr on gas which isn't as good as i hoped but then again i aint had it set up. Gotta say tho, the torque off road is amazin, no need 2 rev it or worry about the revs droppin 2 low and stallin in sand, just pulls like a train
