Running on?

Post by GU BUG »

Yet another problem, not sure if it's got anything to do with it heating up though :?. I've noticed that in the mornings when it's cold, if I start it up & turn it off before it's warmed up, it wants to run on :?.. I know when the timing's too far advanced in a petrol you get this problem but I haven't heard of it in a diesel . Also, some mornings it starts up very smokey. I had new injectors put in it about 15000ks ago so it's not the injectors & I had the fuel filter put in too (genuine). It's rather heavy on the juice & some days it seems to perform a lot better than others (possibley hotter & colder weather I suppose :?:). I'm guessing it has something to do with the pump but I'm not too sure exactly. Any ideas :? :?

Cheers

Occasionaly I get run on with my TD42 but it only seems like a few revolutions for about a second or so. I havent noticed any correlation to the aircon but I havent been looking either. It seems to be mainly when its cold. I dont have any issues with it running hot except while towing in soft sand when its working its guts out.
