Just wondering if anyone knows if a set of 33x12.5x15 in tyres will fit under a standard hight bj42?
Will they rub with suspension flex?
I dont want to go choppin into gaurds at this stage.
Also what are your thoughts on the BF Goodrich AT looks good to me what sort of klm's could i expect?
is $220 each a good price? if not where do i go that has them cheaper?
any other tyres i should concider in similar price range?

GDAY MATE jakes my name i recon you will ge away with 33's you might get tyre rub but that all depends on your leafs and the condition they are in? sagged? standard? i would seriously steer clear of bfg all terrain cos they are now a high wearing tyre cos of the cheapa silica compound in them,ou might be lucky to get 40,000km outta them if i were you i would be looking at the goodyear wrangler m/t the seem to be the best 4x4 muddy tyre on the market at the moment and fairly priced to if you shop arround i would sstrongly recomend if you already havent to put on greasable extended shackles(but not to long and inch longer then standard will do) they will help with you new tyres clearing your gaurds good luck

I fitted 35s to my first BJ with only a 2" body lift. But that was with 60 series power steering
Now to find a pic. Man that was AGES ago. I believe they would fit with minor rubbing, but would recommend at least a 2" body lift. Bubs should be able to help you (you guys are mates right) He could make the blocks for you for cheap, and tell you how to fit them. Any dramas come back and ask, I have done a few.
If you're gonna go muddies like suggested then why not hankook dynamic mt's
They're bloody good value for a name brand mt I reckon, but I haven't priced goodyears

I think the hankooks suggested where RF04's are the RF03's pretty much the same coz i know of somewhere i can get a good deal on them, but they might be gettin a little roadie what did you do to your car bj?
i have 60s power steering for mine too so steering the gigger rubber should't be a prob.

yer mate they do but there is like 5cm's between the gaurd and the tyre. i am at school now, when i get home i'll post a pic for you and you can see for ya-self
Just a quick note with regards to the BFG AT's. I had a set, did 50,000 on my car and they have now done 10,000 on Heathers Zook. Sure, lightweight cars, but there is still 90% tread left on em! I'd go for a mud type pattern tho if you into driving it offroad, those AT's slip n slide!
Well Murray you cant really complain about that for tyre wear. Its amzing how people can have so different opinions. I was talkin to a fella at a tyre place and he was spinnin me some story about the new BFG's havin a different compound or somethin and tellin me they wear real fast but he wasnt a BFG agent was he.
Thats a bit harsh bj. Its bad enough that your car got bent but you didnt even get to be in it when it happened!

So are the tyres stickin out the side of the guard? meaning you would have to do some choppin to be able to run them

How are they on the front ben?
If they clear the front ok, i have a set of 60s rear springs which are longer and higher that i could run on the back of my bj, this might lift it enough. What do ya think?
I've got a 1980 BJ with 33/12.5/15's. They do scrub, but only when the going gets fairly rough, and only very slightly. I've got ARB A14 springs under mine, but they have been modifyed (shh) and the guards are bent down slightly, so it's probably about the same height difference. I would suggest a block lift though. I'm currently looking for one if anyones got one they want to get rid of.
