all depends on where you are.... in newcastle most of the wreckers want a grand for a full tub... dunno 'bout ute's particularly, but they're harder to find i think. having said that, i got my s/top for $50 :D

ppl will pay $400-500 just for the fibreglass canopy..

they werent s1 till someone on another forum suggested that for 600 they better have some s1's in it at least.
suddenly theres s1's.
ive asked him to verify, and he doesnt answer.
doubt he would know anyway.
however, if you buy the tcase and it does have s1's, then good on you. on the other hand, if you buy it and it doesn't, we can go and lynch him coz i know some ppl who know where he lives ;P
personally, i was dead keen to buy it, but hes too ambiguous, and Gutless is confident that theres no s1's to be had.

I had a conversation with him on friday night. he lead me to believe that the tcase he was selling ( which I saw on the chassis with my own two eyes) was out of a maruti. I explained to hime that the maruti case was simply a 1.3 case with 1 L gearing. there is no way that he could have interpreted that as meaning the case has S1's. Nor did he say at the time that the case contained S1's. So one could assume that he has either got ANOTHER case with S1's in it, or he is simply making crap up as he goes. :?

its changed on the NBS forum aswell ;)

I'm not sure if what he did was intentional, but if it was, and the prospective buyer didn't get what they paid for, there would most certainly be servere repercusions

Hmmmmm what would be the best thing to do to a 1lt zook? buy a 1.3 case with a series 3 in it or just put a series 1 in the 1lt case.

Cheers
Simon.

I don't think that S3's or even S1's fit into a 1 litre case. They are smaller.

The maruti case is different tho, as it shares all of the same bearings and shafts etc, and is identicle to a 1.3 in every way, except for the actual tooth count on the gears. It is basically a 1.3 case with equivelent gearing to a 1 litre.

I fitted S3's to my 95 maruti case with no hassles at all.

Oh well i think the best thing to do is buy a 1.3lt Transfer case and put some series 3's in there. and sell of my 1lt case.

I am guessing the ratio difference between the 1.3lt and 1lt cases aint that far apart?

Gutless:

Is the late 83/84 1ltre(with 4wd light) cases the same as a 1.3 case. As they are externally the same and use the same mounts and flanges sizes. I have mounted my 1ltr case in the spot where the 1.3 case was.

cheers
