Hey dude, just picked up my T/D Hilux yesdy and holy sh#t it flies. Has soo much go behind it. Everyone in my street is drolling over it. Good to see that Toyota has done some major changes for once.
Can't give you much info on the long term test but others will.

Not really sure on the 4L V6. Read a review in a mag saying they pulled 170 kph down the main straight of Darwin's race track so i'd say it has a bit of go behind it.

Hey Antman, The diesel is the pick of the engines for the new lux. However the suspension set up is not the smartest for off road driving & Im reading that lots of new luxs are tearing rubber boots. It all up to how much offroad & how big your going to get into it. So as a work part time 4by Cool. If you get hooked on 4bying you might be a little disappointed, (even with 2'lift). For the money of a new lux you can get a second hand cruiser or patrol, (With the fuel consumption issue). Or if you have money to spend on top of a lux you can fix the suspension by SAS it. Check out 05 SAS Hilux on Toyota forum index.
Good luck.
Happy 4by shopping.

Hey Antman

I'v got the V6 so cant say anything about the T/D but dam the V6 has some pull 175KW, 345Nm both around 5000 RPM Quad cam 24 valve. Its an absolute pleasure to drive around town and a joy on the freeway. Around town it does about 11.7 L/100 not sure about the freeway.

I got the V6 as it suites my circumstances better.

My two cents
