Coil spacer.

Hi guys,

Here it comes again.
I want to go for a coil spacers for my stock Vitara.
What is the maximum I can get with the stock suspension system?
I know the 30mm spacers are safer.
But how about the 2" spacers?
Which means, there would be 3" lift at the front and 2" at the rear.
Would that be too high to damage other parts?

Yeah, I have been reading all the messages there and found they're very helpful.
It seems the more I read the more confused I get....

I'm just about to make decision for what size of coil spacers for my Vit.

Perhaps you should define what it is you are trying to achieve. From what I can tell you want to make it look a little tougher and it won't really see much offroad, is that right? Keep in mind that a 2" spacer on the front won't lift it 2" but actually it will be over 3" due to the way the suspension geometry works. Then you will run into issues with the strut maxing out. You can do a strut mount flip for a little extra but really at the level you are talking you will also need some long travel struts like the Old Man Emu. Also the CV angles will become severe and failure will be more likely. Then at the rear your shocks will need attention and I would also suggest you look at a spacer for the diff ball joint if you would like that to last a little longer. You could just fit a bodylift for the look and keep all your suspension and driveline a little healthier. Just some food for thought.

Yeah, I just want to make it look nicer as we don't have much chances to go off road here.
So I guess I would stick with what SiKiD_01 has advised me.
In fact, I don't want to run into any trouble as breaking this n that.
All I want is just a maximum lift with no modification.
In this case, I would only go for 30mm spacers.

Right, I know there would be 1.5:1 for the front suspension system.
It should get 45mm(1.77") lift with 30mm(1.18") spacer at the front.
The front end is about 1" lower then the rear end now.
So, I guess it should be level up after putting the 30mm spacers at the front and back.

i have broken a left side outer, and a right side outer CV on my vit. i am running the 26 spline shafts. i can also break the CVs at will if i want to, its not hard.

although, i am sitting about 3" over stock ride heigh on level ground, and i have about 4" of droop on the fronts. i have no front diff lowering (yet!), and so this is where the CVs are weakest, at full droop, and any slight turning or steering will see them spit metal balls and cages.

each time, the cage has exploded and the inner flower also broke into as many pieces as there are balls! so yeah, with a lowered front diff (2") and less droop or extension of the shaft will see them last quite a bit longer. in stock form, no lift, they arent really that weak IMO.

as for sway bar(s), well, there's only one, and i...ummm...well..it fell off one day, and i sorta lost it. i think it was the 2nd or 3rd day i bought my vit. a vit is 4" wider than a WT sammy, and with some 3"back spaced wheels, a hell of a lot more wider, so on road i'm not an F1 or NASCAR driver, i just enjoy the body roll, and the comfort of coils (compared to a sammy)

one of my posts on zukiworld.com about how strong front CV/axles are on the vits. not sure if its on topic, but thats my experience with a 60mm coil spacer in the front of mine.

i ran the 30mm coil spacers the 1st week i got my vit, even before the 235/75/15 tyres. i didnt change the strut or shocks, and i didnt flip the strut mount either.
