auto to manual

Post by -Mick- »

what's involved in converting auto to manual in my 4runner? The auto is playing silly buggers and dependant on the price of repair I'd look at swapping in a manual box instead :) Its gutless enough without an auto :roll:

Its a 4ye attached to an a340H auto (87 4runner sr5).

Can anyone suggest shops that might do it? and at what cost? I'd happily pay a shop a reasonable amount for that to avoid the headaches :lol:

Only problem I really see is that I'd need to do something with the transfer, its 1 piece with the box not divorced :?

Look up and ring Rodney at Wholesale Automatics, in Bayswater Melbourne....he will access your auto over the phone and give you the best advice.

bumping this back up :)

The auto is really starting to &*$* me :lol: its misbehaving like me when I'm full of scotch :D

I know good avenues to get the auto repaired.... thanks dow50r :) But the question is what is involved in converting to manual. I need to know;

*What parts I'd need
*How hard it would be (should I just pay a shop?)
*If need be can anyone recommend good shops in Brissie willing to do this kinda work?
*What it might cost... maybe a cost for parts and an estimate of time it takes would let me figure out an approx total?

If its even close to the cost of repairing the auto then the slushbox is gawn :lol:
