H55 Input shaft bearing

Post by gearb0x »

Hey

Im looking at buying a HJ60 which has a noisey gearbox, its fine when its moving no noise at all. There is alot of rattling when you release the clutch and the box is in neutral though

Now in the event that this noise a. isnt the clutch, and b. the gearbox dies, what am i looking at for a wrecker box or a rebuild $$$ wise?

Thanks
Phill

Gearbox from Halls 4x4 here is around the $700 mark, a rebuild depends on what they find when they open it up and have to replace, My Box and rebuild and when I say rebuild I had everything worn replaced came in at around $2000 including the cost of buying it.

Just depends on your budget. shop around on here even E-bay their are bargins to be found, even consider buying a complete 60 series at the right price for spares.

Thanks for that.

allright since the GB it self seems ok when driving. If its the input shaft bearing, can they be replaced without fully dismantling the box?
