Accelerator cable help!!!

Post by zooker »

Well i just snapped the accelerator cable in my zook, but since it was originally a 1L and had a 1.6 carbie vitara transplant, i am unsure of whether i need to buy a vitara accelerator cable of a 1L sierra cable. Could anyone whose done a similar conversion please tell me if you used the original cable or the vitara one.

cheers

when I put the 1.3 into my 1.0 litre sierra, I needed the 1.3 acc cable..though I managed to hack the 1.0 to fit till I got one.

I'm told the 1.6 is similar to 1.3, but I don't know for sure, and we can't be certain who did what.
I'd say take it in and get the replacement if possible...

most likely be a vit cable?

One Stop Suzi Shop told me I was snapping accelerator cables often because I didn't have my smaller earth connection connected from the battery to the body.

Coming off the battery's negative terminal there should be a short wire that grounds to the firewall. I had snapped mine so what happens is current from the battery ends up running from the engine to the body via the easiest point which is the accelerator cable, after a while they just snap.

So yeah something to consider...
