Need to replace my standard fuel pump as it has died. Any one know what flow rate im looking for in an aftermarket electronic fuel pump? It has to run the 3.9 with standard twin carbies.

If anyone recomends what they are using let me know!

My Landy had first MQ electric pump then a Carter pump as a replacement because the little facet ones didn't last long but both needed a fuel regulator to restrict pressure to carbies.

Steve, just get a replacement pump from repco or similar. How do you know its died ? have you checked all the connections, i have never had a problem in 12 years and 270k.

If you have 12v to the pump try giving a bash with tapometer, its very rare that the liitle solid state pumps die, but quite common to jam. you can also disassemble them and clean out the sludge

Thanks guys but i was having to tap it way too often so i ripped it off now im looking for one that i can be confident it wont let me down. Something low pressure and high flow!

If you only need to tap it to get it working there cant be much wrong with it.
Repco sell a replacment for about $140 but there will be others cheaper.

Try a Mazda 929 REAR WHEEL DRIVE MODEL sedan at the wreckers, under the fuel tank under the boot floor, there is a plate. Remove this plate and there is a facet type fuel pump and filter assembly on a bracket. most wreckers want about $40 for it. I send my Tdi owner customers off to the mainland with a spare one of these in case of a lift pump failure.
