Evo Pajero

Post by Noisey »

Was heading out for my day of destruction on Sunday and was passed on the M5 by a SWB Evo Pajero - number plates of "evopaj".

I would not say it is the prettiest of the SWB Paj models but still looked like a bit of fun.

i've been lucky enough to crawl around under one and what i saw was interisting, alloy suspention arms, coils all round, inderpendent all round. the bonnet is oh so sexxy and those flares... but pajero's arn't skinny and adding that extra width means you'll be scratching it all the time. another interisting point is 31's are about the biggest you can fit in those gaurds they are not very wide. but enough bagging the thing rocks and it does what is was designed to do very well, if any one wants one there is one going in canberra soon for about $40,000 and they came with recaro seets front and back!

HI, there is quite a few over here for sale at less than 20k. Pajeros are cheap, to buy my 1994 DOHC SWB manual would be about 8k with 94000k on the clock.

Hmmm. I didn't remember anything like this. Checked out the VIN - don't recognise the format. Then I found "Previously Registered Overseas: Yes"

No indication of age.
Never registered in Australia.
"Alloy wheels"? Hard to tell, but they look like the standard white steelies to me.
Seat Belt pre-tensioners? In a vehicle that old? I'm guessing that's Dufus' term for inertia-reel belts.

I'd steer clear, just personally.

This is about the 6 time it has been listed.
never reaches reserve (my guess around 8500)

I've thought of phoning him up and doing a deal on the seats, steering wheel and front underbody guard. Then again maybe not :D

only the front seats are recaro, in a proper evo paj the back seats are a recaro speacial! they look so good. that one looks like some guy made it from bits, the front seats are evo's but 2.5 ... i don't think so if they made a dakar special it would atleast have the 2.6 or more likely the 3.0
