slight mods to my middy

Post by Rookie »

i am looking at cutting my frp top down and taking the back window out of it and then re-attaching the other side. whilst cutting down the rear doors and turning it into a middy hard top ute with roller draws under the tray.

my question is if anyone can help is how hard is it to cut fibre glass and then stick it back together? also what would be the best product to use as my tray top?
cheers

Interesting idea... Im a new member who also has an 85 model FJ73 MWD FRP top cruiser... I am currently doing some work on it to get it back on the road as I bought it wholesale.

How easy is it to remove the FRP top. Might be heading up to Darwin later this year and was thinking that If i make a soft top for part of the year, I will be able to drive it around as a convertable.

Mine is a 3F petrol engine with the 5 speed manual gearbox.

it is simple to remove thr Frp top it is as simple as a few bolts. If you have the manual then it is in there. i am currently in Darwin for work and it is damn hot here. when i get back i have to get mine back on the road to as it sort of hit a tree before i came away but when i get back it will get changed drematically and Mick when i am done you wont reckonise it. gotta love the mud there is heaps here in Darwin nothing better than rental cars in the red mud.
