Find a way to get through the firewall...
find out which one of your wirs is pos(red) neg(black) and make sure you have like a.... 10?amp fuse inline before your radio and the positive terminal......
then pos to pos
neg to neg

if it is an old uniden then i would protect it with a fuse no larger than 3 amps.
The max currnet drained by the old 5 watt unidens is 2 amps so a 2.5-3amp is ideal.
Cheers

Hookers are like bowling balls, You pick them up, put your fingers in them, then throw them in the gutter and they come back for more.
i found that the best way is to get yourself a test light and find wich wire coming from your ignition has power to it only when accesories is on or sometimes you might forget to turn radio off if straight to battery! for an earth there should be a bolt around the ignition area aswell that should be a good earth!
where about you from beefa? if your in sydney and not far from here ill hook it up for yah for free!

if u check behind your stereo you will find an accessories wire normally yellow, just jump it off that!! so both your stereo and cb will work of the same wire. and only work one the accessories are on. Quite simple to do! just disc your batt before you do it! doesn't hurt to put a 10 amp fuse in, they are designed to be able to handle that. any lower you may find that u will trip them all the time!!

Re: cb
My uniden which draws 5 watts (1.8amp) uses a 2 amp in-line fuse. My ICOM which draws 25 watts (7amps) uses a 10 amp in-line fuse.dirt-monster wrote:if u check behind your stereo you will find an accessories wire normally yellow, just jump it off that!! so both your stereo and cb will work of the same wire. and only work one the accessories are on.
