How about some photos of the body/chassis mounts for the cage? i.e. where does the A, B and C pillars connect with the floor?

Drive shaft

gday mick. first of all thats a sick lookin truck!!! Well done. What tail shaft are you going to run in the rear of it? as i have just done a hilux diff conversion on the coily and the one cardin joint does not get rid of the vibration!

What's your pinion angle compared to you xfer output?

or make sure your diffs are exactly 90D from the chassis.

Shaved the front diff today, got an extra 30mm of clearance ;)

does shaving the diff weaken it at all? Where can I get it done, and whats the damage? I am going to bundera diffs, and have been told that I will lose some clearance :cry:

Shaved the rear diff.

Gained a bit over 30mm plus a heap on the sides

Here is a pic pre-shave

Just out of curiosity, did you just use the door hinge bolt's at the rear, or did you also link it to the 'a' pillar of your roll cage?

What size tubing?

it is mounted to the door hinge bolts and it will also have additional mounts on the firewall where the front gaurds bolt on.

Tubing is 32mm od

that shaved rear diff is awesome

heaps of clearance there!

how long did it take you to do the bottom and sides of the rear housing?

the tube work is also looking sweet

Perhaps you can clear something up for me regarding the boggers...

I've heard a viscious rumour that when travelling at highway speeds they are frighteningly loud (i.e. as loud as 98 decebels?)??????

Is that right? :shock: Or is that just crazy talk? :roll:

I think it's equal to the loudest you can have your exhaust on a car too... which would make it very loud indeed...

however, i've heard 'urban ledgends' about people with boggers being pulled over because their tyres were too loud... hense my query. :?

i just took them off so the panel beater can buff them for me. I dont want to damage them before i take it to the summernats! :finger:
