fuel consumption 1997 4wd hilux

Post by KAZZA »

Does anyone know what the average fuel consumption is on these things?

mine is 2.4 petrol
33's .extractors and 2.5" exhaust system

now i seem to be getting about 250 to 280 k's out of my tank.
Is this normal or would u say this is excessive.
if so what could be the problem and how do i solve this.

fuel use

Thats terrible! assuming you have a 60 litre tank that's 24l/100km. Somethings wrong-maybe a tune up would help

Make sure ya air cleaner is clean and maybe get a tune up - those figures are shocking!

Hows it run while you are driving?

That;s absolutely S**thouse.

I have a 91 2.8D and get about 450 - 550 depending on driving.

I know this may be a simple question but when refuelling how much do you put in?? these have a 65 lt tank, so fo rexample I put in about 40 - 45 ltr when mine is showinf empty.

Could be something simple like stuffed fuel gauge?

Else, like others have said check thing like air filter and perhaps change the fuel filter and get a tune.

Cheers
