Hi,
I have a patrol 160, 1985-model
I have a 3.3 litres turbo-diesel with ARB in the axles on the car. I need lower gear because the car isn't strong enough with 39" irok to drive in rock crawling.
i nead lower reduction in the transfer case, or some Rockhopper reduction..
wher can i bay it??
Preferably something cheap ?? hope?.

There are no rockhopper options in the MQ-MK patrol.
The best you can do from Nissan parts is the N/A 5 speed gearbox and the 4.875 diffs from the ute.
Given you've got a 4 litre, the diff ratios on the 4 litre and 4 speed may be taller.
Other than that, you could consider other transfer cases - Landrover would be the best option - get some reduction in high range (1.15 or 1.2:1) to help you in high and 3.3:1 in low is very common.

would be a custom adapter between the box and transfer.......InSanE wrote:maybe run an aftermarket 5 speed mated to a gq tcase then add crawler gears?
nothing would fit....
either put a whole new gearbox and transfer that has hoppers available in it or an automatic with a transfer that has hoppers...
only 2 ways
