looking at a 1990 Dx 80 series cruiser. 4.0l on dual fuel with 246k on the clock power windows, mirrors bullbar aircon. what problems would i expect for this one, looks preety straight price is reasonable. ive searched a bit but thought i would ask for some advice since she would be my first 4b and my first car
if it's a 4l then the motor is a 3f handover from the 60 series cruiser not the best motor and very thirsty on fuel allthough fairly reliable, there expected engine life is about 350 000k's and when it dies u will have to look back in time for another engine cos the two newer 80's engines don't bolt up to the gearbox and run thre exausts doun diferent sides. but enough of the bad stuff still a great truck just watch out for that gas tank botoming out on rocks and stuff.
Toyota have done some wird things to the 80 series.....it should be a part time 3f 5 speed with vinyl everything and no power anything.....but if they ran out of winders, you can get power windows for free...know of some 80's with front power windows only in an rv....know of gxl's with solid rear windows, etc etc.
Best to beware of the rebirth aswell....
DX was only diesel, from 93 and had cloth seats and tacho.
