Matt
Theres a thread around here somewhere about rebuilding them.
I got mine done on my old GQ SWB TD42. Didnt cost that much and was easy to do. I brought a piston rebuild kit from Nissan=$50(approx) and had the cylinder honed and re-sleved with a stainless sleve for about 40-50bucks. And did the removal and install myself.
Only problem I had was undoing the pipe fitting. I needed one of those ring spanners with what looks like a bit cut out.

Could even try the repco's ect,
If you get it kitted and re-sleeved(stainless) buy an extra
kit.As stainless is not pourus, the new rubbers wipe clean
the bore on every stroke.
The sleeve will last a long time, you just need a few kits.

Cheers Ian.

To be honest neither do I, I know that power assist brakes don't need a running engine so I would suspect not. These last 15 years or so who knows what complicating technology they added.
In the GUs I understand there is an inline one way air valve looks like a snake swallowed a rat so I have been told. If it fails then vacume can play up. Think it would be on a GQ also.
How many pumps do you get at a fast idle in neutral?
