Turbo 4runner dynoed today

Post by boogdude »

Got the guys at tuning turbo centre at the gabba to tune me 4runner. I had a real cheap boost controller on, which i thought was running 12, but it was supposed to be spiking up to 18psi. So stay away from the cheap sh#t. He tinkered with the pump and put a new boost controller on. Once he put the different controller on and fixed the pump i got an extra 25 hp at the wheels.

I run 33x12.5's and got 86hp at the wheels and 444nM of torque. Possibly more if i get the injectors changed.
It goes heaps better

Anyone else got and turbo diesel dyno figures????

John at Brisbane Tuning knows his stuff when it comes to diesels. have been going threre for years with my diesels. Will be there tomorrow to tune the 80 petrol, but he did the maverick and my MK turbo.

Glad it went well.

I had mine dyno'd and got 75.2HP at the rear wheels running a DTS turbo with 8 pounds running 32's and a dirty air filter :( .

I will be winding up the boost after I get the EGT fitted and work out an intercooler solution.

Brisbane tuning know their stuff, they dynoed and tuned my surf for me a few years ago as well as putting on a 3" dump and 2.5" exhaust, John really knows his stuff, and I got close to 80hp at the rear wheels ! and heaps more tourque ;) I think it was around 400/420nm, i've got the dyno report somewhere.
Just wish I wasn't selling it now

Cheers

No offence taken at all. All those were on the dyno at Landcruiser Park, which is known for being down on horsepower figures....but its the only one that I can use to get a comparision between different years and modifications. It shows that I've got more than a 100% increase in Hp at the wheels from the original V6 setup.

Heres is the dyno report from widowmaker who mounted my engine for me. Almost 150kw at the wheels...with 33's on!!! Click image below for full size...
Image

The calculted flywheel power was 189kw....1kw shy of the factory output for the motor.......so I'm more than happy with the V8 swap, and don't regret one bit of it.

dynoed 4runner

I have a 2.8 diesel from a 1996 model lux. Went average without turbo, then put an aftermarket denco kit and know its awesome.

I will be selling car at end of year cos i am after a dual cab lux 90 - 97 solid axle. Not sure whether to sell the 4runner with the turbo or without and keep it for the dual cab.

What sort of money do you think i should ask for it with and without turbo.

some specs.

1984 4runner. 33 tyres, 4 new long travel procomp shocks, ext brakelines, ifs rears with lift blocks, 2inch raised front springs with superior extended shackles. 2.8 turbo diesel. 5speed. cd player etc.

any sort of suggestions would be great
