Has anyone taken one of the rear, side sliding windows of their 60 series out? i just wanted to check how to go about it before i get into trouble!
My car was broken into and the @ssholes smashed one of them!
Cheers.
Daniel

60 series rear sliding window

Daniel, I pulled some out of my 60 series project car not long ago so I could cut it into a ute. From memory it is basically glued in with sikaflex. You need to pry it away using a lever/screwdriver and once it is started just slowly keep adding more pressure until the whole window frame comes away. It does sound easy and was easy but keep in mind I had no reason to preserve the window frame, body or paint work
You would then need to remove all left over sikaflex and then glue the window frame back in with sikaflex once you have changed the glass. Click on link provided for an online Toyota manual found in the Toyota Bible section on here. What you need is on page 504
Hope this helps.

Run a piece of strong cord under thru the gap between body and frame and 'saw' through the glue. This will help prevent bending the frame or body outa shape.
I was going to Sikaflex mine back in but the panel beater told me to only use good quality silicone sealant as the Sikaflex is a bit TOO good for the job, making future removal a pain.
