Genie headers (extractors) on ebay

Post by Mudsierra »

found this on ebay, wonder if this is any good.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... %3AIT&rd=1

Didn't all feroza have the same motor?

Those extractors have been a permanent fixture on Ebay for a couple of months now. They will fit all Aussie Feroza's.

You could probably do better price wise by buying them direct from a local exhaust outlet. Unless you're handy with a welder you'll need to get someone to fit them anyway. ;)

None of them (except the MRT's) will bolt straight on. You need to cut your current downpipe infront of the cat and join them in. Then mounts need to be welded on to go to the gearbox, plus a support for the coolant pipe to bolt onto...

If the pics on that WARFs link are right then the Genies will bolt straight on- you might want to check first....

I bought my extractors from that chap. Couldn't be happier!!

Very good person to deal with. Sent them o/seas with no hassels and quick service.

To clarify the situation, these are a direct bolt on, but the Euro specs may be different from Aussie spec. My Fez had the original exhaust on it, which suprisingly did not have a CAT.

But realistically, if your buying a set of extractors, why not just do the rest of the exhaust as well?

They are correct, we got them directly from Genie.

They do not appear to have the gearbox bracket or a place to bolt the coolant pipe onto? I supposed at least they will bolt in as supplied, but long term there could be problems from not having the gearbox mount.

bsically there are 2 ways main ways of bening pipe one is centre line bending which is where there is dies on the out side that bend the pipe basically one lot of dies bending the pipe around another

the proble with this is if the pipe is soft enough etc it can start to crush or dent when its bend around one die.

mandrel bends refer to the machine used being a mandrel bender

which works in a similiar way to the above mentioned bender
but it has a flexible die on the inside that goes in the pipe and prevent the pipe from crushing in when bent around the one of the die's

thats how i understand it well from my observation
we have a centreline and mandrel bender at our work

on disadvantage of a mandrel bender is you cant bend as thick a side all tube
but in exaust systems it doesnt matter because the pipe wall isnt thick enough to worry
i will draw a little diagram to show the diffrent between the 2

Mandrel bends = $$$$ ; highly unlikely you'd notice any difference in power IMHO providing they've done a good job on the bends.

BTW there are good and bad "crush" bends too. Some you'll have trouble telling from a mandrel bend, others look really restrictive. I've got Hurricane extractors that have the "crush" bends and they don't look too bad.

Have Wildcat 4 into 1 on my Roza - cost $217AU new and bolted straight on. The results were VERY satisfactory, although the engine has a few other mods.

yep if they are smart and know there shit they either have the dies made to suit the pipe or they get the pipe made to suit the die's and that way they dont end up with cushed and kinked pipe

most places are smart
