Alternator wiring question

Post by Bartso »

ok my system is 12v i have a 24v winch and i want to charge the batteries i have only for the winch (2 in series) with my 24v alternator it is off a GQ safari
so there is two terminals in a block and a B+ and a E terminal as well as far as i can gather B+ and one of the terminals in the block go straight too the postive of the bat but what about the earth? do i go from the E to the negative of the battery?
if it gets earthed through the engine etc i assume i have to earth the negative side of the two bat to the chassis as well? will this upset the 12v system?
