Is there anything special I need to know about painting new fibreglass panels.
- Rub back to remove shine
- paint with etch primer
- paint with 2k primer putty
- wet rub back
- paint with 2k
Just want to ensure there is nothing I am missing.

no need for etch primer. polyester resin is the same as 2k in that it is a thermoset plastic. the only bond needed (or obtainable without physically destroying the plastic) is a mechanical one from the sanding. i would use 600 grit. I also rarely use of primers if it is for off road use as the easy sanding also makes for poor overall coating strength. the only primer on my whole truck is the panels i bogged after welding. I prefer a super fine bog like superflex or similar.
