Post by Mousie »

aircon belt snapped the other day i carnt seem to see how to loosen/tighten the tention on the belt or how to even move it to get the new one on

any one point me in the right directoin i might just be blined and not seen it but compard to the alternator and the powerstearing pump there is no tentioner that is the same for the aircon

Is it diesel or petrol? On the TD42, there is a tentioner pulley which you need to loosen then adjust right off. To get it off, you need to remove PAS belt and Alt belts..

Some times they just wont budge. Just roll on the new belt and see how it fits. Might not even need any adjustment.

There is a bolt (off about 14mm?) that you need to loosen aswell. It faces forward, cant remember exactly where.
Its not a tensioner but more of a lock.
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.

look up from under the motor you will see a small pulley that sits below the aircon amd the pulley will be on a arm there is a bolt behined it 19mm if i remember undo it that is your adjuster take other belts of put new aircon on and adjust with pulling down on the arm thats on the small pulley when tight enough do up 19mm bolt then put rest of the belts on again while your at it get all new belts saves the trouble later on
