Bundera rear diff (Hilux) strong enough for 350 chev?

Post by sudso »

Picking up my newly acquired Bundy this weekend.
I have a stock 350 carbed chev for it with auto, just wondering how tuff the Bundera diff's/transfer are.

It also has an air locker in the rear.

Diff's are 4.88 with 35" JT's

I broke the hemisphere out of a 4runner LSD. It had 31" muds and a 22r motor.

If you drive like miss daisy i guess it will hold up.

few of me mates have got v8s in there 4 runners.
they have had 60 series diff housings retubed with hilux tubes.
you keep the 60's centre but not to shore what happens with axles.
it works for them.
getting HALF CUT ready for mudbash 09.

HG has a 308 on gas in his surf... doesnt not drive lightly, broke a chromo rear, but has never had a problem with standard axles...

If you can find a V6 4Runner centre they are have a stronger hemisphere IIRC
Cheers,
Dan.
