4.11 C&P

Post by walker »

Has anyone bought a set of 4.11 for their Rover lately and if so where did they get them from and what did the cost?

It seems almost no-one in Australia stocks them anymore. I can get a good deal from Ashcroft in UK but there is always the problem of how much Import duty you will be stung with.

Thanks for the help
Thanks,

Adam

No. Maxidrive used to import them but they stopped a while back because of quality issues.

Should be no import duty if you can keep them under $1000 and sent via post rather than courier.

A mate buys a lot of stuff from Paddocks and ships them this way.

It depends if they work out the duty on the price including delivery or just the price of the parts. The total price including delivery is more than $1000

Yes, I will see what I can do, it just might cost a bit more in postage.

I was just wondering if anyone had bought them in Australia recently.
Thanks,

I did try them at the end of last year and they were the same as Maxidrive in that they were no longer stocking them due to quality issues. Apparently most of the Australian companies were importing them from a company who had recently switched production to Brazil and after that there was a lot of breakages.

Looks like no-one has bought any for a while.

I have tried one place in the States, I think it was Great basin Rovers, unfortunately they only sell 4.1 gears not 4.11 and they were more expensive then the UK.

If you are interested I will let you know if we are going to order some in.

Interesting locker design...... But they do have diff gears. 4.1's though, not the 4.11's.

4.1, 4.11 there is only a bee's dick between them, why specifically do you want 4.11 over 4.1 ?

I don't know a lot about them I am just going on info given to me by people who do. Both maxidrive and LRautomotive will all tell you to buy 4.11 not 4.1 because of the strength. With more teeth on the same size gear on the 4.1 it makes it a weaker component.
When the price for both is similar you might as well go for the stronger one.

Thanks for that, I had a look at the site. They only sell 4.1 gears but also their prices are expensive but at least it shows me what a good deal i can get with Ashcroft. :P
