Engine lift kit

Post by justinshere »

Hey, Im thinking about putting in a engine lift kit - Snake Racing.
Does anyone know of any problems with it?
I will have to use the "Competition X member" also from snake.
Now, what ive heard is that you get alot of vibration through the whole car cos of the way that the X member is mounted to the chassis.
I have a hilux 2.8D and i dont want anymore vibration. Is what i heard true?
Anyone with this setup installed please let me know what u think, and its important that u state if u have a Diesel or Petrol!
Cheers

When I had the 2.8 I had both in my hilux.

Both are very good but the cross member WILL give you more vibs if you have a desiel, all I did was up`ed the idol revs slightly to help smoot them out a bit. After about a week I never noticed it unless somebody said something about it.

Now I have the V8 it is all smooth as again. I don`t run the engine lift blocks anymore as I just made engine mounts to the hight I wanted. Cross member is still used.

This was the exact pic i was after. So its all rubber mounted i dont understand how it increases the vibration.
Is there any way to tweak the mounts or something that will eliminate vibe...? Ideas?????

Yes there is a skid plate, its sitting on the bench as I`m to lazy to put it back on

It vibrates because the rubber is to hard, but any softer and I think it would be to soft with this type of mounting.

You could cut the ends off and redo the mounting points differently if you want, I`m to lazy

Would mounting it on nolethanie bushes make any difference?
Or lowering the mounts and putting it on a bigger bit of rubber...?
