did any 80 series wagons come with 7 or 8 seats?

just a question for any owners of 80's..... did any models come with rear seats ( 7 or 8 seaters) just that i have found a nice 80 but my missus wants the option of extra seating.... (not sure why... only got two kids)

just want to know so that i can assure her that i could fit extra seats sometime...

yeh most gxl 's came stantard with 8 seats they folded up to the side covering the mirors but previous owners must have removed them. just check has it got 4 lug pins in the floor and a small armrest with a cover over it in the very back aswell.

Yup - my 94 GXL has 8 seats. Comes in handy at times.

My 93 RV came with 8 seats but I took the third row out. Kevdog, sounds like there may be something the missus isnt telling you...

Mine came with 8 but now has 5. The rear row of seats are sitting in the back garden waiting for hard rubbish day.

All gxl's came out with 8 seats. While the standard came out with 5 seats and barn doors. but apparantly the std has the holes for the extra seats, but then u would want the 50/50 split middle seats etc.

I think you will find the standards came out as a 6 seater with the front bucket bench arrangement. The only standard 5 seater 80 I have seen was an import Sahara that had front buckets and no 3rd row of seats at all.

And I don't think the standard has the holes or extra brackets for the rear seat sets .... well the ones I have seen haven't. I've fitted a set of rear seats to a std 80 myself and had to mount all the brackets and transplant the sub floor recesses into the std rear floor ... also had to graft in the factory rear retractable seat belt brackets too ... quite a job and not something I want to do again in a hurry.
