Is this the comp that is primarily setup for people just getting into comp or is that another one in Vic? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

bigears,
Mate I contacted Procomp a while ago and Henry sent the following information to me.

"Teams will consist of Driver, Navigator/Winch Runner & Vehicle and the cost will be $330 per team.

More information will be available closer to the event but this event will be run under the CCDA rules and is classified as a Group B event. As a basic guideline vehicles/teams will need to have the following safety/recovery equipment:

Recovery & general equipment:

Both driver and navigator/winch runner need to be fully licensed

2 x rated 'D' shackles (min 3.25t)

1 x winch extension strap (min 8,000kg)

1 x tree trunk protector (min 12,000kg)

1 x snatch strap (min 8,000kg)

1 x winch block (min 8,000kg)

1 x winch blanket (min 1kg) – if you run a double line pull you will need 2 blankets, one for each line back and forth

1 x outdoors first aid kit

2 x 0.9kg fire extinguishers (to be fitted within reach of both driver and navigator)

2 x pairs of winching gloves

2 x crash helmets

1 x shovel

Spares kit

Tools

Vehicle requirements:

Roadworthy and with no obvious defects (we will be using some public roads) Currently registered in drivers name (or letter of consent from registered owner) Proof of 3rd party insurance

1 x Electric winch with min 8mm dia. steel cable or 10mm dia. synthetic rope Winch cable to have no kinks or damaged sections.

Jack & jacking plate

Tyres no bigger than 36.5" tall x 13.5" wide.

At least 1 spare wheel and tyre UHF Front recovery point Rear recovery point Cargo barrier (directly behind driver/navigator)

4 point B pillar 'roll cage':

In brief this consists of hoop running from floor of vehicle on drivers side, up the B pillar, over the roof to the passenger side and down to the floor behind passenger. This hoop then needs to have additional 'backstays' which need to be welded to each of the top corners and going at a 45 degree angle towards the back of the car creating 4 points of contact with the floor. Where the hoop and stays meet the floor they need to be plated both sides and bolted.

This is a brief description only and not meant to be the full roll cage specifications."

Hope this helps. It will be my first time too. Hope to se you there.

As of last night 29-3-06.... I can....

OFFICALLY CONFIRM that Vic Winch '06 - is being run by Ontrack 4wd club(Vic) (as per '04).

Property to be 100% confirmed but should be the same as '04. So not Bindaree but the Neerim North Property where the 04 event was held.

We will confirm the dates once we get them approved with the property owner.

Needless to say the event will be run by the same committe that ran 04, so expect a high level of professionalism, commitment to detail and an event that will challenge all.

I look forward to it, as well as the sleepless nights before and after!!!

Anyone who competed in 04 will know how challenging things will be progressively over the three days. You will learn allot!

Spectating will be confirmed once we have set dates so wait till then to ask about that as I don't know till then!

We are a small club and look forward to the assistance of other clubs with regards to marshalling over the event.

Needless to say - bring it Awwwwnnnnnnn! :D :D :D

We are looking at holding Vic Winch 06 on 13-15th October, it's difficult to find an available weekend, so feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Alison (spell?) just run it what ever weekend best suits the club and isn`t on the same weekend as other 4x4 events down that way. If you try to find a weekend that suits everybody you will never run it.
