TJ transfer case questions

Post by Miyagi »

Hey Jeep people,

i'm looking for some info on a transfer case for a TJ jeep. I tried doing a search but found nothing.

here's my questions

1. What ratio is the low range gear?
2. Are there reduction gear sets available?
3. How much would it cost me for a T/F case? and gear sets?
4. Where would i find one and no pay through the nose for it?

if it works out i'll be adapting one to a pajero.

cheers
Daniel

4. Where would i find one and no pay through the nose for it? Get an Atlas instead ;)...otherwise ask on ausjeep.

"Atlas" is that a different type of transfer case or a book full of maps telling me to get off my arse and look one up? :)

Ok mate you found out what an Atlas is yet? ;)
Personally I wouldn't bother fitting a POS TJ transfer case simply not worth the cost/effort for the weak result - ie Slip yoke, chain drivem and weak alloy housing....oh yeah and heaps longer than it needs to be.....
Sorry I'm not a 231 fan.

A built up Dana300 or Atlas II would be the go.
